A member asked:

I recently had a root canal and my dentist started the process for a crown placement. but the thing she put on top of my tooth has come off is this normal. it doesnt look like it will go back on. is this okay to be off or do i need to be seen?

In this situation I'd give your endodontist or her covering DMD a call in order to get instructions.

If the temporary debonded, it will not cause any harm. If impressions were taken for the crown then it may be wise to return to have it recemented since your teeth may shift.
