Mouthguard: A pain medication is not the solution. You need to find the source of your stress which causes you to grind your teeth. In the meantime, have a dentist make you a mouthguard (aka occlusal splint, night guard) that you can wear during times when you grind the most. See your md for treatment of your anxiety disorder which can include meds or cognitive behavioral therapy.

Get a mouth guard: You need to see your dentist right away and let him or her confirm that you have no underlying dental problem first. If you are in pain because of clenching, you might need a bite guard. This appliance fits over your teeth on one arch and allows the even distribution of biting forces to eliminate your discomfort. You should also deal with why you are so upset and get professional help if needed.

Seek dental help: You need to have a dentist exam your teeth and see what is going on. Some type of stress management may be needed or maybe there is dental problem that needs attention. Taking drugs is not the answer. Clenching & gritting your teeth at night can chip and crack teeth and make them hurt. See a dentist.
