If you noticed "small soft spot” the cavity was probably much larger than you thought. Sensitivity may be from filling being high, a very easy adjustment will give instant relief. If the cavity badly damaged the tooth, or if there is a resultant fracture, more sophisticated treatment may be required, such as root canal. See your Dentist ASAP for resolution.

THE SOFT SPOT WAS PROBABLY DEEPER THAN YOU THOUGHT AND CLOSE TO THE NERVE. IF SO THAN THATS WHY THE TOOTH IS SENSATIVE. YOU MAY NEED A ROOT CANAL IN FUTURE IF PAIN CONTINUES. SEE YOUR DENTIST FOR A FOLLOW UP EXAM.
