Levothyroxine: Levothyroxine (t4) is turned into liothyronine (t3) in the nucleus of your cells. Dessicated thyroid has too much animal t3.

Hypothyroidism: Your thyroid gland controls your metabolic rate. Hypothyroidism means low thyroid functioning & is very common & often underdiagnosed. The best treatment is either pure t4, for those who can easily convert T4 to T3 (liothyronine) or some combination of T3 (liothyronine) & T4 for those people who have a metabolic block which prevents them from transforming T4 to t3 (liothyronine).
