Diet & Med important: Diet is import but if the thyroid isnt treated correctly none of it matters. Been treating this for over a decade+. Found that synthroid (thyroxine) being only T4 is near worthless. Instead use Armour Thyroid having T4 & t3. You will notice most lab panels now exclude T3 when patient is on synthoid. Because the T3 (acive hormone)will be low, very low. And patient will still exhibit all of the previous symptoms.

There are: no special requirements...a healthy well balanced diet including foods which traditionally supply IODINE (pretty much the ONLY dietary influence on thyroid function) is the best answer to this question. Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
