Fatty: Follow low fat diet, increase vegetables and fruits, eat baked and grilled and avoid fried foods. When you pick your meat choose a lean cut. White meat is better than red, fish is one of the best.

Depends: Depends on what part of the lipid panel is abnormal. If the triglycerides are high you need to avoid sweets and simple carbs, especially those in liquid form (juice, soda, sports drinks, etc.). If the LDL (bad cholesterol) is high you need to consider an ornish or dash diet. If the HDL is high that's a good thing. Look for a lipid doctor if your doctor doesn't know. www.lipid.org.
