Balanced diet : Need to eat a balanced diet where you are not consuming more calories then you burn daily. A good rule of thumb is 300 calories 5 times a day. Also regular exercise of at least 30 minutes daily helps as well. And finally cut back on simple sugars and carbohydrates like white flour and sugar.

Diet AND exercise: Make sure you exercise at least 30 minutes a day, don't skip meals, avoid soda, juice, dairy, alcohol and fried foods. Eat a healthy well balanced diet! also water, organic vegetable broth, green leafy vegetables, natural pickles, apples are great to fill you up so you dont feel hungry and they are very low in calories. Being overweight can increase ur risk of hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea.

Calories in n out: See the excellent answers on "weight loss". You basically need to burn more calories than you take in. Increase your exercise, choose healthier, less-caloric foods and drinks. The nice thing is that if u build more muscle you will even burn more calories while you sleep! and don't focus too much on weight. Focus more on pants-size, etc. Muscle weighs more than fat but that's ok--its good wt.
