Not just about....: These are two different issues. Gout is caused from overproduction or underexcretion of uric acid proteins. Arthritis can be degenerative or traumatic or gouty. See your local podiatrist or rheumatologist to further evaluate the problem. Medicines should be used when diagnosis is definitive, not suspected.

Anti-inflammatories: Antiinfalammatory medication such as Ibuprofen is often helpful for pain and swelling. Stay away from shell fish, sardines, peanuts or alcohol. See your physician. This is a problem that is affecting you systemically. You may have to be under continual care by your physician.
