Yes.: Anyone who's had one, knows how terrible these experiences are. Usually people want a med to take "when needed". But, it's so much better to prevent, than to "chase" panic.If the panic attacks occur w/ some frequency or some predictability, then preventive meds on a regular basis is my treatment. Relaxation techniques are also important when/if an attack begins or you are in a troublesome situation.

Difficult : It is difficult to do on your own...Especially if long-standing. This can be a rather complex issue...I would recommend that you see a psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment....Especially if it is interfering with social/vocational function.
