Wife had her 1st ascus pap result. the doctor then did an hpv dna/rna test & no results provided. should she be concerned and request the results?

HPV DNA Testing: Yes. Simple as it sounds, please have your wife contact the physician who ran the test and request results. But, please be aware that these results often take a bit longer to be reported. And, once in a great while the testing medium is unable to isolate enough cells to do the test with any kind of accuracy and the test then needs to be repeated. But, this test is a very good improvement!

Agree with Dr. K: If it has been more than 3 weeks since the test was taken, ask your doctor. There is not much reason to be concerned, but you should follow your doctor's advice about follow up care.
