I know it's common for diabetics to need more insulin with breakfast, but i find that i spike more at dinner. is this normal? how could i help this?

Maybe lunch-coverage: It is difficult to tell exactly what is going on in your case without knowing your medication use/insulin types and dosage etc...If you use 70/30 Insulin 2x/day and having high in late afternoon, this suggests a need to modify dosage/time or even type of insulin. In this situation, a lunch-coverage with a short acting Insulin such as novolog/humalog may help. Please consult doc. Good luck.

Normal: People "spikes" at different time depends on what they eat. In general, dinner is where the "spikes" occur because they eat different foods or eat out more at this time and are not familiar with how to cover. Most people eats the same breakfast and a small lunch so there is less variability for these two meals.
