Post shot infection: Nope. This is not normal. It sounds like you got a skin infection from the shot. You should consult your physician.

Immunization: There can be swelling, redness at the injection site due to local tissue reaction. 1st 24 hours we advise to apply cold compress, after that warm compress so that blood supply improves and the swelling resolves. As you are diabetic, make sure it is not infected. If redness, swelling increases, see your doctor to rule out possible infection by skin bacteria.
