A member asked:

When are you most contagious for strep throat (a)? when does one become less contagious? (x many days, x many days of antibiotics, etc.)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

From carriage to 24h: Group a strep is probably in your system setting up for an infection for hours or days become symptomatic. If its there, you could pass it on from the point you have it until the antibiotic starts to kill it off. Most consider 24hrs on med enough to stop you from being contagious.
