Many reasons: Some people are afraid that it will hurt. Others have the old stigma that if you use insulin, you will start losing limbs, go blind or die (from watching old relatives). The way to get over this fear is education. Technology has come a long way. With the Insulin pens and 32 gauge needles that we have now, Insulin shots are now very simple and shouldn't hurt.
