Simple preparations: There are several things that you will want to have on hand for after the surgery: a few bags of frozen peas or corn to ice the nose, saline spray, aquaphor ointment, and afrin nasal spray.

Not much: Touch base with your surgeon, but there isn't much to worry about. Avoid blood thinners like aspirin, vitamin e, fish oil, etc. Avoid alcohol for 2 days preop. Continue to take any regularly prescribed medications for blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.

Avoid blood thinners: Avoid blood thinners, stay healthy, consider starting arnica montana to minimize bruising, pick up your prescriptions for after surgery and read your preoperative instructions.

Ask your surgeon: In general stop all medications that may thin your blood such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, plavix, coumadin, (warfarin) vit. E, fish oil, garlic pills 10 days ahead of time. Consider starting arnica montana and/or bromelain a couple days ahead of time.
