Yes, always treated: You should also find out root cause of recurrent utis. 1) first thing is to try & perfect toilet hygeine, emty bladder after sex, shower rather than bathe, use cotton non thong underwaer, treat constipation, good fluid intake & void 2-3hourly. 2)try long term cranberry prophylaxis. 3)work-up to rule out urinary tract stones or incomplete bladder emptying e.g. From retention, reflux or diverticula.
