Beneficial: According to discussion of the topic by utmb dept of otolarybgology, "mucus membrane disease in children is frequently limited to the ostiomeatal complex (omc). Children with even more extensive disease seem to resolve with the restoration of adequate ventilation and drainage to the omc area [following conservative fess technique]".

Not proven: With sinus problems after surgery, try not to have more surgery. The real answer is in using lots of nasal saline irrigation.
