Tachycardia : the fast heart rate after surgery can be due to blood loss or due to the stress of the surgery. If it was due to blood loss, get your blood count checked. If it is due to the stress of the surgery, do not worry about it. You can also get tachycardia by being dehydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Good luck and feel better!

Depends on: rhythm. Sinus tachycardia is rapid heartbeat, usually medication or stress induced, usually of no consequence. Atrial or supraventricular tachycardia is usually benign, but might require medical attention. Ventricular tachycardia is most serious can lead to cardiac arrest, so you need immediate attention.
