Teething+spit up=not: I would put more spitting at 5mo to a bit of reflux, which tends to increase some as baby starts getting physically more mobile. If baby is not showing excessive fussiness , i would just monitor the situation as it usually improves between 6-9mo. If really fussy, have babies dr evaluate.

Yes: Spitting up can be caused by teething. When teething, babies tend to drool more and often swallow a lot of that extra saliva – this can cause extra spitting up. Breast feeding can reduce spitting up as well as keeping your baby relaxed during feeding can help. Finally, positioning carrying your baby in a sling or carrier can help as well.

Teething help: We frequently see an increase in saliva flow with teething. There is really nothing to stop it. It should go back to normal after the teeth are in. You can let your baby chew on a cold teething ring. Some parents have found camilia and/or Ibuprofen really aids in teething discomfort. Massaging the gum tissue with a soft bristle brush can also help.
