Need evaluation: Pain/bleeding/swelling are signals that there's something wrong. Glad you're flossing, but should be painless. Call your dentist for examination. Mae sure teeth/gums healthy, then follow dentist's flossing instructions. Flossing is the best way to prevent gum disease.
