A member asked:

Does lack of sleep lead to increased appetite?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: What we know so far is that lack of sleep is associated with obesity. This is related to increase appetite and decreased physical activity due to fatigue. There are also several hormonal pathways altered with the lack of sleep that are being studied recently. The circadian rhythm (the one which tell us whether to be awake or sleep) has been recently linked to obesity with new promising medications.
