Depends: Depends on several factors, age, comorbidities, organ function, type of leukemia. Could be standard therapy, a clinical trial or another therapy. There are other drugs used besides standard chemotherapy. Hope this helps.

The incidence of AML: ...increases with age, and this poses a challenge because older patients are more likely have difficulties withstanding the side effects of standard chemotherapy treatments. The response rate of the disease to treatment is not so much determined by the age of the patient as it is by the type of AML, and it's genetic and histologic features.
