Yes: depending upon his general health/cardiac status there are medications which can help with his blood counts until side effects of CHEMO are past.....his own INTERNAL STRENGTH is ALL IMPORTANT ..Those AROUND him can "help" with that! Good Luck Be well Hope this is helpful Dr Z
