A member asked:

If a person has been diagnosed with cataracts but they don't notice any blurred vision, is it urgent that they have an operation?

No!: No, cataracts are very common! indications for cataract surgery are when the cataract affects your activities of daily living, then it is elective. Very rarely is surgery indicated emergently/urgently.

No.: The time to remove cataracts is when the vision is interfering with your daily activities such as reading, driving, etc. Unless they are causing a problem with the eye itself such as glaucoma. I would discuss this with your ophthalmologist.
