Usually: Astigmatism or irregular corneal surface. If a retro bulbar infection for anesthesia is done this may cause some short term diplopia.

Many possible causes: If the double vision is in just the operated eye, then the cornea or implant has a problem. If the double vision occurs only with both eyes open, then there is a misalignment issue. Your ophthalmologist should be able to sort this out.
