A member asked:

How come my 11 yo daughter can not fall asleep at night?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be insomnia: There are many factors that come in to play in children who have insomnia, or difficulty falling asleep. First, i would make sure that her room is stimulus free. Tv, computers, and game systems need to be removed. Also, some children are quite sensitive to caffeine, so i would make sure to eliminate tea, soda, and chocolate from her diet. Melatonin can also be safely used as a natural sleep aid.
