Trauma Tool Kit: Ptsd is a whole body tragedy, but healing is possible. An excellent resource is the book: the trauma tool kit. The trauma tool kit maps out stages of healing from stress-related disorders and provides immediate first- aid techniques that help alleviate the most intense symptoms of traumatic stress in a small amount of time. It combines modern neuroscience and ancient healing to help recovery.

Absolutely: Yes. One of the only good things about war is that it teaches us more about certain types of injuries. Ptsd is one of those. The diagnosis of ptsd did not even exist at the time of the vietnam war. Psychotropic medications have improved. Cognitive processing therapy is very effective for both complex & simple ptsd. Emdr is quite helpful for simple ptsd.

Meds and psychothera: Get a apsychiatric referral for an evaluation for PTSD, and see if medication is warranted. Next, find a reputable psychotherapist in your area who specializes in PTSD. Meds and therapy as such are typically the best way to go. Group therapy can also be very effective.
