2 weeks...: Will get a large part of the swelling and most bruising gone. Some swelling still remains at this point but most patients are able to return to work at that point. There is not much pain so if you don't mind te swelling/bruising you can return earlier. Ask your rhinoplasty surgeon for details.

Short or long term?: After surgery your nose will be taped and you will be asked to wear a splint for about 7 days. You will have mild bruising and soreness for 1-2 weeks. Most patients return to work or school after their splint is removed. Exercise will be at the discretion of your surgeon. I allow my patients to exercise at 2 weeks. Mild swelling persists for several months and it takes a year for complete healing.

Generally 2-3 weeks: Generally speaking recovery is 2-3 weeks but depending on what is done and your tolerance for people seeing your cast or bruising, it could involve no downtime ( people in venezuela go out and celebrate te night of their surgery) to longer in the event that rib grafts are required.

1 year: Total recovery and resolution of swelling takes a full year, but the nose tends to look good at 3-4 weeks and steadily improves from there.
