How do i know if my strep throat has given me rheumatic fever?

+strep, fever, and..: There are so called criteria to make diagnosis of such. At least you must have several of the things here such as: fever, multiple joint pain, rash (erythema marginatum), sydenham's chorea (st. Vitus' dance), heart inflammation, ekg changes, high white blood cell count etc...If u have concerns/symptoms, consult doc. Good luck.

Rheumatic fever ARF: ARF is an auto-immune response to infection with group a streptococcus bacteria. The ensuing generalized inflammatory response affects only certain organs: the heart, joints, central nervous system, and skin. Symptoms of rheumatic fever usually appear within 2 - 4 weeks . Symptoms include tiredness due to heart involvement, fever, joint pains, twitchings, rash, swollen glands. Need doctor exam.
