Ankle fracture : Physical therapy will help with pain mitigation, improved range of motion, strengthening and proprioception improvement. All of this leads to improved pain and function. Also should help prevent repeat injury.

At this time-- no: You need to confer with your doctor for specifics, but at this time if you are still in an aircast that indicates that the bones are not fully healed. After removal of the cast is the time to start pt.

Depends: Is the fracture healed? If so, then PT can help with decreasing the pain as you increase your activity. It is normal to get some discomfort when you start ambulating. See your surgeon.
