No specific timefram: As long as you are properly anticoagulated, you should be fine. Try to stop and walk for a few minutes every couple of hours.

One month: If adequately anticoagulated and if rest is taken while driving long distance.

Anytime: As long as you are on anticoagulation then you will be fine but try to avoid long rides, so stop every 1-2 hours for 5-10 minutes walk. Also make sure you have compression stockings on ideally 30-40 mmhg knee high.

Soon.: Patients with a recent DVT (or pe) who are on anticoagulant treatment are at low risk of further clots. If taking coumadin, (warfarin) INR must be at goal (2-3). I recommend caution for patients traveling within 2 weeks of a new DVT or pe and slightly delaying things if practical. Dvt and pe can be serious and time to make sure that the correct diagnosis and treatment plan is in place, is needed.
