A member asked:

Im on pradaxa for dvt, have been for 4 months. ive found out i have a genetic mutation which makes me 4-5 times more likely to get clots. what are the chances the clot will move to my lungs? and how would i know? us of inner thigh was negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Evaluation : Need to be followed by vascular physician who can find out which anticoagulation treatment is best for your genetic condition. Clots to lung may go unnoticed or cause congestion or even pneumonia type symptoms or even sudden death. May have to consider caval filter as additional protection based on evaluation. Not something to ignore.
