Antipsychotic: Thioridazine is an older ("first-generation") antipsychotic medication, used primarily for the treatment of schizophrenia and related psychotic illness. Because of dangerous cardiac side effects and drug-drug interactions associated with thioridazine, it is not considered a "first line" treatment, as there are many newer and safer antipsychotic medications available.

Thioridazine: is a older antipsychotic medication. The brand named product (Mellaril) was withdrawn from the worldwide market in 2005. It caused prolongation of the Qtc interval & cardiac arrhythmias. Generic products can still be purchased.
