Yes and no.: None of group a strep are resistant to penicillin, though some are resistant to macrolides (azithromycin, clarithromycin, erythromycin).

Yes: Group A Strep (the species that causes strep throat) remains universally susceptible to penicillin, but shows a bit of resistance to macrolides like azithromycin. Additionally, their more sinister cousin, Streptococcus Pneumonae, an encapsulated bacterium which causes pneumonia and meningitis in infants and adults has developed resistance to multiple antibiotics.
