Yes: Bacterial resistance is steadily increasing. There are already strains of bacteria and tuberculosis that are resistant to essentially all antibiotics. There are few new antibiotics in the pipeline and drug companies are not investing in new antibiotic development as they are not as profitable as drugs that are taken life long. Government intervention is needed for the public good.
