Still Effective: Mebendazole is one of several medications used to treat pinworms. There are reports of drug resistance but it is still used widely for this purpose. Treatment failures can be minimized by repeating the dose in 2-3 wks after initial dose, by practicing good hygiene to prevent reinfection of yourself & spread to others. Good handwashing especially cleaning under nails is important.
