Abnormal pattern: Less severe than eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia). A. Nervosa: morbid fear of wt gain, restrictive intake, abn body image; often lose menses (usually occurs in women), can lead to death. Bulimia: binge/purge, maybe w/ vomit, laxative, diuretic, exercise abuse. Often normal weight. Both can cause fluid, electrolyte disturbances, kidney, liver, heart probe. Of course causes emot probe.
