Maybe: The descriptions of the actual behavior need to meet the criteria, but if it does, the disorder is called binge eating disorder. See: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/binge_eating_disorder i'm not sure if the newest dsm includes it.

Can be: Binge eating is a disorder when someone eats great amounts of food well past when they are full. This as well as overeating in general is probably caused by not being able to identify your feelings and eating to sedate, calm yourself. If you can identify your feelings you can find other ways to gratify your self than eating.
