Is boredom eating considered an eating disorder?

Not a disorder: Our current framework to consider a psychiatric disorder is based on dsm-iv-tr criteria. One key element in considering a disorder is "functional impairment". Boredom eating may be indicative of an underlying issue that would benefit from an evaluation.
