Not exactly: The er is for emergencies, they will often give you an IV pain medication to get your acute pain under control and then tell you to follow up with a pain management or orthopedic specialist. If you have a bulging disc that is causing pain into your legs then you may be a candidate for an epidural steroid injection. I would recommend that you get a referral to a pain management group.
