Trying to make sense of my new mri, and ive never heard of a broad based disc bulge before, and theres a few?

Broad based disk bulge is used when 25 to 50 percent of the disc circumference is bulging outwards. It is associated with the noticeable symptoms, can herniate and need treatment. Disc bulge is also known as disc prolapse and outer layer of annulus remains intact. If disc bulge is into the spinal canal, it can compress a nerve root. Surgery is not always needed. Dr. Rastogi explains the process well. But it is not uncommon to uncover vertebral spondylosis with multiple levels of degenerative disc disease, as we age. Most disc bulges are asymptomatic, but some represent potential protrusions or herniations.
