Fairly low unless...: Here's a site that gives a nice summary of available information: http://www.Schizophrenia.Com/szgencounsel.Htm the general population risk is 1%. If both your parents have schizophrenia, that jumps to 35-46%. Risk with a sibling is 7-14%. Naturally, if multiple close blood relatives all have schizoprhenia, the odds rise; distant relatives have a much smaller effect on risk.
