No: Not really. Schizophrenia is a brain disease which is present in 1% of the population. It has nothing to do with having a poor upbringing. Because it is chronic, there may be a great strain on the family system with arguements among members trying to decide how to best help the person with the condition. This can occur to some degree, with any major disease.
