Depends: Lots of injuries are called "sprains". A sprain refers to stretched or torn ligament that attaches two bones together. A simple sprain usually will heal on its own but there are a lot of other injuries in the wrist that can be more serious and so if the injury is lingering or not improving you may want to consult a sports medicine physician.

Get it evaluated: If you have a minor sprain it should heal with immobilization is 6-8 weeks. If it has not gotten better, or has not yet be evaluated by a hand surgeon then you might have a significant injury, as a ligament tear or fracture that if not treated can lead to arthritis in 10-12 years.
