Once you have the valley fever can it come back off and on?

No.: If you have cleared the infection naturally you generally have good immunity against recurrence. If your immune system fails or is suppressed, the disease may have the opportunity to infect you again, but it does not come and go.

Valley Fever: Relapse of sx's is rare by possible. Recurrence is not likely. Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection found in desert soil. There may be no sx's or mild sx's in 60%. Sx's: cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, fever, night sweats, headache, muscle/joint pain, rash, weight loss, meningitis or pneumonia. Dx is via serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis or culture.
