A member asked:

What are the symptoms of valley fever in adults and is it mistaken at times for pneumonia?

Coccidiodomycosis: Valley fever is due to this systemic fungal infection and can present as pneumonia. In some people, particularly those who are immune compromised, this can become very severe and cause central nervous system infection, usually as meningitis. Most people resolve this spontaneously without major defects or need for therapy.
