I wonder if he meant: That psychiatric medications were not indicated. Psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy may be beneficial for patient's with erratic mood swings.

Adjust: A degree of mood variation is normal and adjustment techniques are needed to compensate when needed. Some conditions are severe enough that mood stabilizer meds are needed. Cognitive behavioral techniques as well as lifestyle modifications are needed in all cases and that is where a local psychologist or counselor may help you in compensating appropriately.
