Communicate first: Talk to you current psychiatrist about your concerns before giving up on the medication and psychiatrist. Some meds take longer to work than others. Tell your dr. Your concerns, psychiatrists are trained to answer your questions and help you. It's okay to change your psychiatrist if the one you have is not a good fit. Consider more talk therapy, it can make all the difference. Good luck

1st consult with: Your psychiatrist. Let them know how you are feeling and see what they recommend. It is always possible to get a 2nd opinion, but part of how your doctor knows whether to change your medication is by speaking with them about your concerns. It is not an exact science, they need your input.
