Beans, veggies: Beans are very high in fiber- about 6 g per serving. Veggies are a great way to increase fiber, about 3 g a serving. Fruits are also a good source as are whole grains. An adult needs about 25-35 g of fiber a day. At least 7 servings of fruits and veggies/day.

For a healthy diet: that is high in fiber, check out www.Drmcdougall.com or www.Nutritionfacts.org. Both doctors cite lots of research evidence for a low-fat, plant-based diet for good health. Many plants foods are naturally high in fiber. For example, prunes are more effective for constipation that pills.
