Yes: Similar to other nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (nsaids), Meloxicam can be taken for prolonged periods of time. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage. If you remain on the medication, liver and renal function testing (blood tests) should be performed every 6-12 months. More caution is required in persons suffering from hypertension, diabetes or preexisting renal/liver disease.
